Can camp have a lifelong effect on your child, one that makes them stronger, more confident and builds bonds that last far beyond one summer? If they go to Camp Robin Hood it can, and we know this first hand. CertifiKID’s co-founder is a Camp Robin Hood alum who looks back with a deep seeded fondness on summer days spent in this New Hampshire haven, which his own children now get to experience for themselves. Set on 180 acres just outside of White Mountain National Forest, Camp Robin Hood is more than just an overnight summer camp—it is a tradition, a legacy, and a home away from home. Since 1927, thousands of parents have dropped their children off at Camp Robin Hood hoping that they’d have fun at camp, only to return and find that fun was just the beginning. Camp Robin Hood has all the charm of New England camps of a bygone era, with none of the pretense that seems to have taken over most. Here the staff and counselors focus on encouraging campers in an inviting and supportive way that builds community, relationships, and memories. Camp Robin Hood has had such an impact on campers that much of their caring and attentive staff is composed of young men and women who grew up as campers in the Robin Hood community. In fact the current owners of Camp Robin Hood were counselors themselves back when our co-founder was a camper. It’s this understanding of the enduring positive influence of the Robin Hood experience that sets this camp apart from all the rest. The legacy and unique environment of Camp Robin Hood sets the stage for tons of summer fun: Hiking & Trips Team & Individual Sports Arts & Crafts Boating & Water Sports on Lake Ossipee Fitness and MUCH more! From the newest counselor to seasoned staff and ownership, all the people who have a part in running Camp Robin Hood believe it is their responsibility to provide your child with a structured, supportive environment, where they can make lasting friendships, understand the importance of mutual respect, and learn to challenge themselves as they grow. A summer at Camp Robin Hood will be a season they’ll never forget.  This offer has special meaning to the CertifiKID family. Our co-founder went to Robin Hood for many years as a camper and counselor. Now his children (boy and girl) go to the camp where they too cherish their summers at this New Hampshire haven. With this offer, we hope that other children will be able to experience the same “magic in the trees” that our family has at the Realm of Robin Hood.

Camp Netimus hosts "Bowling Parties" in the DC/Baltimore, Philadelphia, and NY/NJ areas, where prospective campers can attend to meet the Directors and other campers.  This special offer is of particular significance to CertifiKID, as it is the childhood camp of CertifiKID's own National Account Executive: My summers at Camp Netimus are the most memorable, magical, and cherished times of my childhood. Of course I didn't realize it at the time (since I was so young and too busy having fun!), but as I grew older, I realized that it was at camp where I truly learned the values of friendship, inclusiveness, and self-awareness at such an early age. Camp provides an immersive environment where young girls are required to foster and develop their sense of independence, confidence, teamwork, and conflict resolution. My 4-year old daughter has already heard the legends, songs, and traditions of Camp Netimus, and I can't wait until she's old enough to experience it for herself. -- Amy F. Give your child the experience of a lifetime this summer with Sailing Camp for KIDs at KidShip Sailing School in Annapolis! KidShip Sailing School, a Maryland State Approved Summer Day Camp, is a children-only sailing instruction program geared for young sailors-to-be. Since its founding in 1987, KidShip has taught the ropes to over 7000 young sailors on the Chesapeake Bay. KidShip’s proven approach blends hands-on instruction both on land and in small, responsive boats on the water. By adding lots of fun, they ensure a safe, enjoyable and instructive experience for young sailors. KidShip offers summer camp sessions that allow kids to learn the importance of water safety, build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy the fun of sailing.  With this CertifiKID deal, your child (age 11-15) will receive TWO Weeks of Full Day (9 a.m - 3 p.m.) sailing instruction using creative teaching techniques taught by carefully selected kid-friendly sailing instructors. Two-Week Camp Description: First Week of Camp - Sailing Essentials: This is Kidship’s most popular program, where your child will learn the essentials of sailing including terminology, knots, rigging, capsize recovery, and man-overboard procedures as well as the basics of anchoring and charting. All of these topics are taught through fun activities such as “H2 Whoa” an epic water throwdown or Down the River Day when kids plan a day trip to another location where they anchor their boats, swim, and have lunch. After four days of hands-on learning with an instructor in each boat, sailors will be challenged to sail without an instructor on Friday. Second Week of Camp - Intermediate Sailing: Built around their fleet of FJs, this course is designed to develop young sailors’ skills in a non-competitive, team-based environment. Sailors will learn about rigging an FJ, advanced tacking, managing weight placement in a sensitive dinghy, and advanced sail trim. During this second week of camp, sailors will not have an instructor in the boat; instead, the instructor will follow in a coach boat. This is an important step in becoming an independent sailor.

When we were kids, white school glue, glitter and a paper plate were what passed for creativity in the Arts & Crafts cabin at camp. Mechanizing a robot we had designed, well that was just plain crazy talk. Ah, but not for our offspring, they get to have all the fun because they have places like Bricks4Kidz, a camp where creativity and fun know no limits! Bricks4Kidz camp kicks off by grouping the kiddos by age (two age groups: 4-6 and 7-12) then the fun begins. “Campers” work in pairs and build projects through Bricks 4 Kidz® lesson plans and make creations of their own during super fun free play periods. They also get to enjoy various games that center around the use of LEGO® bricks. Naturally there will be a little time in there for LEGO® video games (hello Harry Potter!). The fun goes mobile with programmable bricks, electric motors, sensors, system bricks, and LEGO® Technic pieces. This is SO not your “old school” camp experience!

Games and hands-on activities help campers internalize key concepts, like budgeting and entrepreneurship, in a fun and supportive environment fostering team work. This unique experience empowers campers with the mindset to start making sound financial decisions and develop into responsible global citizens. Every camper gets a piggy bank to encourage saving!   Budding Entrepreneurs (Ages 6-15) If you love “Shark Tank,” this empowering camp is for you! Join other intrepid campers and develop a business plan for your own business idea (or we can suggest one!). You will learn to take risks and persevere, while making “business-like” decisions about strategy, marketing and finance. Campers build confidence “learning by doing” throughout the week and make their “pitch” presentations on the last day of camp.   Sports Management (Ages 10-15) For the sports lover, future team General Manager (GM), sports team owner or ESPN analyst, this unique program will take you to the intersection of sports and business! Campers learn the business side of various sports and actively discuss and analyze different “sports money” topics, including professional sports, college sports, endorsements, player contracts, sports agents and more.   “Thank you! This is just so amazing. Speaking of investments, I can honestly say that this has been the best-value camp my son has ever participated in. We were extremely impressed by the high quality of the material presented, the application of real-world examples, and the way that the camps presented such complex material in a fun way.” - Patricia   "SPARK business academy is run with passion and enthusiasm. Basic money skills are hard to discuss with your children. Budgets, credit cards, credit scores and taxes are now subjects that are easier to discuss with my son. The stock market classes should lead to most students becoming investors at an earlier age than many of their peers. Students gain valuable information and life skills and, for some, this experience will provide the “spark” that leads to a successful career in business." -  Paul

Grace Episcopal Day School (Kensington) and St. Bartholomew's School (Bethesda) Week 1: June 18-22 Week 2: June 25-29 All Sports and Games: Remember the old school days when kids got on their bikes and spent the summer days with friends at the playground? Those were special times. HoopEd is bringing kids back to the playground with the All Sports and Games camp. Kids will spend each day rotating around all different sports in an environment where coaches teach the rules of the playground, incorporate all of the kids regardless of abilities, and stress the important lessons of sportsmanship and being honest in play. Games include everything from kickball, soccer, flag football, whiffle ball, and basketball to all sorts of dodge ball games, capture the flag, and even old school "kick the can!" Each rotation throughout the day will be tied together with an awesome theme taught by encouraging coaches and teachers who know the importance of making young ladies feel confident! Some examples of specialty rotations that could pop up throughout the week are: creative time such as jewelry making, crafts, cooking, etc and then active aspects such as dance, double dutch, old school playground games and much more! Giddy up and spend a week this summer at riding camp with the graceful and gentle horses at Twin Oaks Riding Academy in Leesburg, VA! Young riders will be delighted to learn what it's like to own and ride their own horse! Rhis camp is best for children who have seldom ridden and are looking for an introduction to riding basics, horse care, and responsibility taught in a safe and fun environment. Each child will ride every day, receiving individual attention, and learn basic positions on the horse, including steering and control. Riding is taught by an experienced instructor who will stay with the child while on the horse and help them maintain proper position while guiding the horse. Each rider also learns basic horse care skills, such as grooming, hoof cleaning, tack care, barn chores, and how to maintain the well-being of horses. The emphasis of this camp is on safety and respect for the horse and his care.  Campers are organized into similar age groups, of 5-6 per group and rotate through four, 30-minute stations: Grooming. Riding. Horse chores. Craft activity teaching horse care. For an additional fee, your young rider can stay an extra hour at camp to feed the horses, have lunch, and enjoy other horse activities, such as an obstacle course, costume parade, and bareback riding! This "bonus hour" is often the most favorite part of camp.  "I truly appreciate that your camp provides the "whole experience" for kids. My daughter relished all the riding time she got, as well as enjoyed performing farm chores, grooming the horses and doing a horse-related craft every day. Thanks for making the safety of the children and horses your number one priority, and for training such engaging and thoughtful young counselors." -KB

Giddy up and spend your Spring Break (March 26-30, 2018) at riding camp with the graceful and gentle horses at Twin Oaks Riding Academy in Leesburg, VA! Young riders will be delighted to learn what it's like to own and ride their own horse! Thanks for making the safety of the children and horses your number one priority, and for training such engaging and thoughtful young counselors." - KB
